Wed. 10/22 at Soundspace Austin, TX

Recently described as Wilco meets Arcade Fire, Austin’s Kirk Smith will be appearing at Captain Quack’s Soundspace to perform his final Austin show of 2025.


Kirk continues to explore the crossover between New Wave and Americana with a live band that's a who’s who of local luminaries including Jon Sanchez on guitar (Bob Schneider, Nakia) and George Duron on drums (Roky Erickson, John Wesley Harding). 


Conveniently located in "not too" South Austin, 

Captain Quack’s Soundspace has taken up where the beloved Strange Brew left off.  There's a full bar and craft cocktail menu plus their legendary baked goods and a wide variety of coffee drinks. But the crown jewel is the room itself which is thoughtfully designed and outfitted with an appropriately modern sound system.  

This intimate listening room offers Kirk and the band a rare opportunity to present some of the quieter, down-tempo songs off of recent albums, IN WAVES and Ithaca.  Only 75 tickets will be sold!

Kirk’s single, JULIAN (New Moon Remix), was recently “Song of the Day” hosted by Taylor Wallace on KUTX 98.9 and can be heard on the station.

Kirk is appearing at the beloved neighborhood watering hole Knomad Bar to perform songs from the brand new album, IN WAVES. The live band is a who’s who of local luminaries including Jon Sanchez on guitar (Bob Schneider, Nakia) and George Duron on drums (Roky Erickson, John Wesley Harding).  Kirk’s song RECKLESS was recently featured on “Austin Music Minute” with Laurie Gallardo on KUTX 98.9 and can be heard regularly on the station.

 

Nestled in the heart of Windsor Park, Knomad Bar, has been a cornerstone of the community for more than 16 years, celebrating  a warm, neighborly atmosphere where locals and visitors alike come together to unwind and share stories.   Plus they’ve got a great sound system and they book some of the best under the radar bands in town.

2/9 - Kirk Smith Studio Show

Kirk and his band will be playing a set of songs from the album, Ithaca, as well as a new song never played publicly. The event takes place in Kirk's rehearsal and writing studio. Seating is limited. All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the band. Show starts promptly at 8pm and will end at 9pm. A full digital album is included with ticket purchase. More details, directions, and the like will be forwarded after you purchase your ticket.
